Yo, I want a free set of tires and you can make it happen! If you are a member of car and drivers Backfire's community, go over to the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and vote on a diesel vs hybrid argument. Particularly !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

And if you are thinking, why should I vote for yours?

Why does Eddie Alterman use a pic of Chevy Chase for his avatar?

Somewhat related note, because of our discussions regarding your TDI Sportwagen the next gen Sportwagen is now at the top of my shopping list. Of course I will change my mind a hundred times between now and then, but when I look at the car holistically it's kinda hard to argue against it.

I've really enjoyed ours. Its quite a good drive and more frugal that it is advertised. The new one has adblue, which is a bummer, but i guess it prolongs the life of the DPF, which is nice. Rumor has it an Allroad type sportwagen may be coming...if so and if it can be had with the manual, i might be trading up. It would be nice to have a little more traction and clearance for camping and ski trips.

Yeah with the new one rumored to have the XDS system and losing 200lbs...AND looking pretty darn sharp. It seems like a winner.

Cross differential system. It is standard in the GTI it is not a true limited-slip diff but works similarly, more like the torque-vectoring unit in the Focus. It improves cornering and helps with water/snow traction.

I remember my wifes old passat had that...called e-diff or something, I liked it since it didn't cut power. I think the my sportwagen selectively brakes to simulate a diff too, but its much more obtrusive and turning off TSC does nothing.
